The short answer

In the hosted public beta, Google Drive and Docs need a connection; they are not live on day one. Files and Obsidian are the live first source. After Drive is connected, Pantasso reads approved folders, file metadata, document content, and owner context available through the connected Google account. It turns that material into cited company context without assuming access to the rest of Drive. Workspace owners choose the folder or file boundary and verify supported content during setup.

What does Pantasso read from Google Drive and Docs?

Pantasso currently supports approved Drive folders, files, Google Docs content, and owner metadata. Plans, specifications, meeting notes, policies, and shared project files can become documents and records linked to the original Drive source.

What does Pantasso not read from Google Drive?

Pantasso does not bypass Google permissions, scan all Drive content by default, or include folders and files outside the approved target. It does not promise full content extraction for every binary or third-party file format. Unsupported, inaccessible, oversized, or excluded material remains outside cited context and should appear as a boundary or gap.

How are Google permissions and folder scope handled?

Google authorization defines what the connected account can access. Pantasso then narrows that access to approved folders, shared-drive targets, or files. Owner metadata and redacted connection state support review. An assistant profile may narrow what an assistant sees, but it cannot grant access to unapproved Drive content.

How does Google Drive setup work?

Founder-led setup starts with one Drive-backed question and a focused folder or document set. Pantasso checks the Google connection, surfaces available targets, confirms scope and supported file types, runs the first sync, and reviews a cited answer before expanding coverage.

What can Pantasso do with Drive content today?

Approved Drive content supports cited document retrieval, project memory, source-aware briefs, and controlled context for assistants. Reviewed document drafting or comments are separate action workflows and are scoped independently; connecting a folder does not grant write authority.

Useful questions include “What is the latest approved launch plan?”, “Which policy governs this request?”, and “What changed between the project brief and the review notes?” Pantasso cites the relevant documents or explains when a missing folder, file, or later conversation is needed.

How fresh is Google Drive data in Pantasso?

Drive syncs retain checkpoint and source-health evidence so changed or newly available records can be collected without a blind full reload. The workspace’s configured schedule determines freshness. Buyers should inspect the last successful sync and warnings before relying on time-sensitive answers.
